Wow, I *thought* I'd read a lot before I got my gliders but I'm finding that there's SO much I still don't know! I'll limit my questions here to their diet so I stay on topic.
Background:
I've got three adult gliders (2 females, 1 intact male (will fix that soon)) in various stages of bonding from running around on my back to trying to take fingers off. I was given some of the ingredients for their food but only about half of it was on the BML ingredient list. The instructions I got weren't clear so I put them on the BML diet along with fresh fruits, veggies, and occational crickets and meal worms.
Questions:
Are there any fresh fruits and vegetables I should avoid? I know to avoid canned items and bagged salad but is there anything else I need to worry about?
How fine does the fruit and veggies need to be chopped? I've been keeping this a little large because two of them will let me hand them treats.
How many BML cubes should I be feeding them? I could never find if it was supposed to be one cube per glider or not. I've only been giving them two since they're not eating it all yet.
Last and perhaps most important, what do I do when one of the gliders is pig? Anytime food comes into the cage, she's the first one to it, whether it's in my hand or a bowl. I put some crickets in there and I know she ate at least half of them before the other two got out of the pouch. I've also seen her take food from the other (smaller) female.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Jim
