new glider need help

i got my 4 month old female glider yesterday. every time i put my hand near the cage she jumps at it and tries to bite me. how bad does the bite hurt and how am i suppose to pick her up and bond if she tries to bite my hand on sight?

Please be patient with your glider. All the smells are new, you are big enough tobe king kong to the glider and is probably not sure of your intentions. Get a tent. My favorite is fron gengitent.com Its a large,mostly mesh popup tent, no assembly just pop up and down. Take glider in sleeping pouch in tent , a book, some treats, a feather teaser, and finger pupperts. Just read and it may not happen the first, second, or third night but eventually your new glider will come to you and play on you, you will be the tree, now gliders like to get sap out of trees so you might be tasted a little bit, the psst psst sound works while you divert attention to a feather or finger puppet or something. To get the glider back in the sleeping pouch just put it up to your glider, if the glider wont go in gently place your hand under the pouch and scoop your glider up forcing him/her safely back in the pouch!
