whenever i get my fingers close to my unneutered male suggie (his name is ollie) he nips at them and i don't know why

is this because he hasn't bonded with me? i find this hard to believe because i've had him for months now

is it because iused honey off of the fingers as a bonding activity?

is he just playing?

Patrick,
Unless you are planning to breed I strongly suggest that you get your Sugar Glider neutered. Neutering has been scientifically proven to decrease health problems and eliminate testicular cancer. It is also found to decrease aggression. My male was vicious, he would literally attack whenever you got near the cage-I've worked with him regardless and he is being neutered next week. I think I made a very responsible decision in choosing to neuter him. Continue to bond with him. Gliders also may bite because they are 'testing' to see if your hand is food or friend.

He is around the perfect age to be neutered, I would call your vet and set up an appointment. Neutering has been found to decrease illness, risks of testicular cancer and decrease aggression. Start with 'Licky Treats' as well, it should teach them that fingers are friends not food.
