First off, I love my sugar Glider ((dink)), and I am spending as much time with him as I can, but I am getting so frustrated. Every time I leave him alone ((usually at night)) he finds a way out of his cage. Well, I  camcorded him just a few hours ago to see how he gets out, and he just slides right through the wires!! Its as a 3x1.5x1.5 cage, and the wires are about an inch wide from eachother. Every time i come home he's waiting for me, and its not so much that he escapes. It's that every time he gets out it becomes a 30 minutes journey trying to catch him. I havent completely bonded with him yet so I don't chase him and I try not to hold him firmly, but it takes so long and I don't know what to do!! does anyone have any quick fixes? I literally can't afford a new cage right now, so if anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it so much! thanks
Brad

buy a newcage or make one. i recently built my cage for under 100$. i used .5X.5 inch mesh (plastic coated) my cage is 3 foot deep X 5 foot wide & 7 foot high. all you need is some 2X4's, enough wire mesh to cover the frame and some long branches and toys.

your wire is too far apart it should only be 1/2 inch apart at the most

You can also go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's and get the animal fencing. It's plastic and it has about 1/2" squares. All you need is sharp scissors or wire nippers to trim it down and some cable ties that you can get at the same store and you can wrap your cage with with it and cable tie it in place. It's only about $10 a roll and you could probably do your whole cage plus have lots left over to make some toys with.

I used the same material as screen doors, he loves it, gives him way more mobility.
