I have the corner version of the hesagonal cage mentioned above withth eebay link. My gliders LOVE this cage. I rescued the three of them from a woman about 100 miles away. They came in this really crappy bird cage. IT wasn't really small...30x18x60, but this corner cage is HUGE. IT is 34" on each back wall and has just one diagonal missing from the front. It's 74" tall. The only thing I didn't like about the cage itself was the top is solid sheet metal. I unbolted the top after asembling it and cut a piece of pet screen material like what the windows in our bonding pouches are made from. I hot glued this to the top edge of the cage on the surface where the top bolts to keeping it from being glider accesible and bolted the top back in place clampint it down on the mesh. This allows the gliders to crawl on the top as well. The only other thing tat wasn't great was the instructions...all they were was a phot of the cage. But this had no bearing on the quality of the cage or how much the gliders love it. I also modified the doors to swing out instead of sliding up like a bird cage. I clipped the wire hook on the right side of the door and made hinges out of black zip ties. I made a latch like they use on rabbit cages out of Stainles Steel wire for the top and the bottom edge. It's very secure now. It also makes cleaning the cage easier. The door doesn't fall on my arms any more when I am doing maintanence or feeding or tretrieving gliders from teh cage.
I planned on buying several more of these for my other pairs of gliders until I found a better cage. It's not as neat looking, but I don't have to modify it at all and it has a larger internal volume. It's 40"x30"x74" tall and is rectangular. It has four small lift up bird style doors for food cups that I zip tied shut. The two main doors lift up agout half an inch and then swing out. Very nice cage. It was also much easier to put together. I bought it used from a guy on CL and it was disassembled when I got it. It only took me about 15 minutes to put it together with no instructions. It's very well made and poder coated. It comes in white, black, green and platinum. If you are interested in either cage...email me and I can order them for you.
My email is
aquariansaltwaterllc@yahoo.com . I am much easier to reach there. I am in the process of setting up a glider related section in my store. I may also set up a glider site.
Thanks for reading.
