the suggies i just got about two weeks ago have really long nails. they have gotten comfortable around me, but i don't trust myself to trim their nails. they don't really like most other people to even be in the room with them, but they need to be trimmed. what would the best way to go about doing this? should i just take them to a pet store or try to find a local vet to do it that may or may not have experience with suggies. either way they need to be done.

If your vet will do it for a small fee it might be worth it if you are afraid to do it. I just get mine out in their pouch in the afternoon when they are sleepy. I take them in the tent or gliderproofed bathroom I have and give favorite treats like meal worms, pine nuts, yoggies, etc and take  one foot out at a time and trim just the very tips. If the glider is resistant then I get a helper and he/she gently but firmly holds the pouch or a peice of fleece over the head and I trim the tips. I use a manicure trimmer cause I have more control that way but alot of folks use little baby clippers!!!    Good luck!!!
