Hi everyone, I am taking Pokey to my vet right now, but the Dr isnt there for over another hour. I woke up this morning and Pokey was awake, so I went to give him a yogurt treat and he wouldn't eat it and he was moving very slowly and just chilling upside down on the top of the cage. He is definitely not happy and is biting me when I move him, but I can feel he is very weak and has no energy. I saw it was suggested that his sugar may be low. I've been feeding him apples lately though.

He has been hanging out under my sweatshirt so hopefully he gets warm, but hes poking at my neck now and he is still kinda cold. I'm going to try giving him so gliderade/acacia gum mix and see if it helps.

Edit: He really is loving that mix. i'm gonna give him some more and see how hes doing.

edit: he has much more energy right now after having that mix. he still feels a little cold. but I think he'll be ok. He is definitely very dehydrated though which is weird because he has plenty of water.

I'm leaving pokey for today with a bunch of acacia/gliderade mix, straight liquid gliderade and some fresh water all in dishes. he may not like the bottle anymore?

i would bring him to the vet today but I can't afford to miss work right now. If I can tomorrow, I'll bring him.

He is doing 20x better than an hour ago and is eating everything up just like he used to!

Pokey is doing much better now after eating all of the gliderade and some more of that mix, and some apple.

good i am glad to hear it. Call me if ya need me i will be on the road for the next few hours. pokey still needs a vet visit cause for a glider to exhibit signs of illness at all means he may be ill. he needs a fecal, float and smear and a urinalysis with culture if indicated. gliders can be fine one minute and gone the next

all is still well. still giving him more of the mix and straight gliderade. He seems like he is back to his normal self.

Is it heard of for suggies to have a high metabolism? It seems pokey can eat forever, where gumby would get aggressive over food, but then eat a normal amount.

Hi, How is Pokey doing today? Have you checked to make sure that his water bottle is working? I check my water bottles daily by bumping the ball to see if my finger gets wet. It is possible that his water bottle quit working.

Please keep us updated.

After I found out that he was dehydrated, his water bottle was the first thing I checked. I actually modify the ball so it is easier for them to drink by pressing it in slightly with a screwdriver.

Pokey is doing fine. He is his normal self and eating up all the gliderade he can.

What kind of honey is ok to give them? I have some raw orange blossom honey that is really good. I thought i heard somewhere that honey was not too good for them too.
