I am building a cage and was having the same problem, but I saw something perfect the other day! At Ace hardware they had a washing maching drip/leak tray. It was quite large and I'd imagine they come in different sizes. I am going to use on for my cage.
"Isn't eucalyptus poisonous to most animals? Even if gliders can eat one kind, I'd be careful with what you give them as I know of at least 13 different types of eucalyptus tree (I did a research project on koala's for school MANY years ago...). I honestly don't know about gliders though."
There are many types of eucalyptus tree sp. They are safe for sugar gliders and no sugar glider should be without. Be careful when giving leaves to be sure they haven't been sprayed with pesticides or other chemicals. Cedar is a bad choice. Any of the eucalypts: gums, stringy bark, etc are suitable for sugar gliders. Some sp. of eucalyptus grow extremely fast and are perfect for keeping and taking regular cuttings from.
