so everyone knows about those hamster balls right? well what are your views on them ? are they acceptable for them or is it like torture since they cant glide?
I put my little guy in the ball about once a week. He loves it. Gives him time to safely interact with the dogs we have. and they chase him but never touch the ball. They almost acted scared when he turns and chases them. Its really cute.

I have to disagree with you Sheri.
Theyre very curious, and love to run around and be active in general. it doesnt matter whether theyre gliding or running, as long as theyre being active.

I have personally seen gliders who have been injured from using those hamster balls, so I would never use one. If you glider proof a room, you can allow them to run and play in a room without the use of the ball - which is healthier for them.
The point of the urine and feces being slung all around is also a good one.

I have one made by Van Ness called the PX1 http://www.vannessplastic.com/small-animal.htm. Its a 3-in-1 ball that has a stand and access door that can be used inside the cage. I wanted something for my gliders to get excercise with, without putting them in harms way from our dogs. This ball was the perfect match. It's easy to clean, takes up minimal space in the cage, and only costs about $5 at WalMart. But most of all my gliders love it and use it every day. Glider Knuts2008-08-29 00:23:09

I would highly reccomend getting a glider safe wheel. Even though your gliders love their ball, its unsafe for them. Those little slits in it can cause some serious damage to their little feet, toes and nails. Alot of times just because your glider likes something to either play with or eat, doesnt always mean that its good for them.
