We had 2 Sugar gliders, both female. We went away on a trip and 1 died. We recently got 2 more, a baby male and baby female (brother and sister)
At first they seemed fine, and would play together. Now its been about 2 months and the Male sugar glider is constantly raping the original female, and the female(new one) constantly attacks the original female often. The fighting at night keeps both of us up. It's really loud.
We have tried seperating them in different combinations, but whenever we seperate them, they end up barking all night. they never fight at datime while sleeping, only at night during feeding. It usually starts with Peanut(the original female) eating, and then getting attacked by the other female. To make matters worse she now has The male cramming his genitalia into her constantly and she makes a fuss. The male bites her on the back of the neck ashe's humping her. Hardly a gentleman !
Is there a way that we can discourage them from fighting ? How the hell do you punish these things without making them afraid of hands ? Oh also the 2 new ones are impossible to handle. They just attack hands no matter what.
If this continues we're going to have to sell them or make glider-kabobs.
