In summary, however, she has treated gliders - MANY MANY gliders as cash cows whom she treats irresponsibly by failing to quarantine them and by breeding them without lineage. She does not seem to care one bit about the overall health and wellfare of the gliders that pass through her hands, but IF she should decide to keep one - to breed and hopefully make some money off of - THEN she will care enough to get it a good cage and some vet care.
And that is just the tip of the iceberg. She has for YEARS mistreated gliders - ESPECIALLY RESCUES - and that makes her bad news in the eyes of many of us - ESPECIALLY us rescue homes.
This glider community has spent years trying to educate others about the dangers of doing the things that Lauren does repeatedly. As a rescue home, it falls to me and the others like me to clean up the mess people like Lauren make. I have the pleasure of caring for many, many gliders who suffer physical special needs due to neglected health care, diet or enrichment AND many who have cognitive impairments that result from being irresponsibly bred. This is why we continue to educate on the importance of NEUTERING any male without lineage, purchasing gliders ONLY from reputable breeders who provide verifyable lineage, VETTING any and all gliders that come in to your home, QUARANTINE for EVERY glider you bring in and NEVER, EVER, EVER allowing a rescue to breed.
Lauren has shown over and over and over that she will continue to treat gliders with disregard for their future wellfare, current health and emotional needs. I really hope, Drayzee, that you will look to someone else as a mentor in your glider journey. Lauren may give sound advice from time to time, but the example she sets by her own actions is deplorable.
