i have a question my sugar glider's nail seems to be loose, like it might fall out. he hasnt paid much attention to where it seems as if it is bothering him. is it dangerous when a nail falls out and if not then will it heal and a new one grow back. and if it is dangerous what can happen??
Andrea, Due to Sugar Glider's having long nails to begin with, they tend to get "hung up" in their pouches. It should be made mandatory that you snip all loose threads each and every evening from now on. I would take him to the vet just to make sure there isn't any type of an infection, but, I've had this happen before and my veterinarian said they'd be fine. No, new nails do not grow back, but the injury site will heal with time permitting.
