Any tips on how to tell a female form a neutered male?
We were told when we adopted our two sugar gliders that they were both male, and one (Dexter) was neutered. We assumed this was correct.
However, a few weeks ago the other one (Wallie) started to exhibit mating behaviors (though no actual mating was observed). So we started to think maybe Dexter was actually female.
But, these mating behaviors didn't start until the two of them were over 20 months old, which from what I've read is outside of the normal age to reach maturity.
Also, it's been long enough that if they did successfully mate, there would be joeys in pouch by now, and there definitely are not.
So, I'm wondering if there's a good way to find out if Dexter is Female or if Wallie is just really confused?
