I have had my sugar glider for about 6 months by herself I was finally able to get her a friend. I wish that I had been able to do this earlier, things just didnt work out that way. I got another female, I am not exactly sure on her age. They thought that she was about 3 months old. She is about half the size of my first baby. I am terrified to introduce them. I have my newest addition in a smaller cage about 6 inches away from the others cage. I have been switching there pouches every couple of day ( this is what I read to do) I have also read that you should not introduce sugar glider joeys to adult gliders. My biggest fears are 1) that they will hurt each other 2) That they will hate each other. I really need some guidance here! I had let my older glider smell the baby through her cage and she seems very excited. However the baby seems to have no interest in meeting her at all. She would much rather be with me and hide her head in my hand. My older glider is not aggressive at all and has NEVER bite me. I have had them both in my lap apart from each other but as soon as the older one starts to walk towards the baby I pick her up... Should I wait until they are close in size? What is the best way to go about this? Also are there signs to look for to be able to tell if they are going to fight? Thank you for any advice that you can give me!
