My joey came OOP paralyzed in the rear half of her body. She seems to be healthy other wise. She is growing and eating good. Her parents are taking great care of her but I'm afraid that she may have trouble later. I'm wondering if anyone else had ever had this issue. Her rear legs did not finish growing, they are smaller than the norm, not fully developed. There does not seem to be any feeling in them or in her tail. The upper body is perfect and she gets around great. Any suggestions??
I dont know, never heard of this please go to the sweet spot and ask it is a health forum, just type and paste link in your browser. In case you dont find it I am going to send a few people over here.
I have many thoughts and suggestions. Paralysis is something I have dealt with in gliders for the last 3 years. You are very right, it could mean "issues" later on. I'd love to chat with you about it and to offer any help I can offer.

Thank you so much for your reply. I just got home and have to get up at 3 am for work but if it's ok, I'd like to call you when I get home from work tomorrow which would be about 5pm eastern time. I really want to get some info about what to do with my joey. she is so sweet and very active and I'm afraid that I'm already getting attached as she is such a special little thing. she is now 2 weeks OOP. I started measuring her yesterday and will measure again in a few days to see if she is growing in length. I worry that if she is not, then what about her internal organs, how will they grow, will she be in pain?? I have alot of questions that I will ask tomorrow. again, thank you so much and I will call after work tomorrow.
this may be a long shot, but try normal doses of calcium. i dont know why a newborn would have a calcium difficiency, but lack of calcium does have an effect on bones, and can lead to hind leg paralysis. my glider developed partial hind leg paralysis but luckily it was temporary. P.S, dont over do the calcium if you do try. it can result in kidney damage
