Hi, all. I'm sad to post this but need to find our girl Switch a new home. Her companion passed away this afternoon. Switch is a sweet nearly seven-year-old female. We desperately want to get her to a new home as she's been part of a colony her whole life. The last glider standing. Knowing she's waking up alone tonight hurts almost as much as the loss.
We care more about getting her settled asap than making money. She's an older gal to boot. If you want to make a modest offer, great, especially if it's a long drive to meet you. If not we'd be willing to let her move to the right home at no charge. We live in Richardson, and my husband goes to school in Denton. We could meet up pretty much anywhere in the Metroplex and would probably even drive to meet someone up as far as the Oklahoma border or down to Waco.
We feed her a varied diet as recommended by the vets affiliated with Suncoast, and her staple food has also been from there. We have some staple food that can go to the new home. We'd prefer for her new home to offer similar variety as we don't believe in feeding suggies the same thing day after day. In terms of her habits and disposition: She's always been great even with strangers. Very even keeled. She's a bit of a homebody. Never did care much for gallivanting around the bedroom we had set up for the gang. (We've been gutting and remodeling our place, so she hasn't been out and about every night like we used to be able to do. So I would LOVE to have her go to a home with room to roam...when she deigns to come out of the cage.)
We also have a large custom cage (5' x 4' x 2') but can sell that separately as I'm betting anyone adopting into a colony already has a cage. We would be willing to loan this cage or a smaller one we use while cleaning the main cage to the new home to help with the introduction period -- since it's not a great idea to just put them all in one cage right away. We also have tons of accessories, including her favorite -- a Wodent wheel.
