I have a male glider who I have had for about 3 months. Lately he has been quiet, and not as active in his cage, he also is not eating much. I cannot afford to buy another glider at this point in time, but it is a top priority on my list of expense. Until I can get another one what can I do to help my little one? He doesn't like coming out of his cage, and when I first got him he would bite, now he doesn't do that but still prefers to stay in his cage. I don't know if he is depressed or if he is just bored with his cage. He isn't as social as I have read gliders to be. Please help. I have no clue as to what to do.
That's a good question. Ocassionally I've thought that my glider Boogie was acting depressed or despondent for a period of time. I thought it might be too little contact so I always pretty much kept him on me during that time, even if he didn't want to come out of the cage at first. Once in awhile I'd have to take him out uncurling each of little claws from the bars he was holding on so tight!
But then he's settle in this wearable, windowed pouch I bought online and I would just carry him everywhere. 'Course I used papaya treats too. I found that after spending a whole day on me he'd be more active in his cage that night.
Do you have a wodent wheel? Mine doesn't have interest in any of his toys but this.
Maybe it's a nutritional thing, too, can anyone give any insight on that?joeonsunset38059.0584722222
